This training video was created to prepare officers to face the intense verbal confrontational situations that they will have to face in their “real world” duty assignments. Officers are called every name in the book - and are insulted and threatened in every kind of way. Officers must be trained to manage this verbal abuse so they can de-escalate the situation in order to resolve the matter, hopefully, without having to respond with physical force. In addition, officers must be desensitized to this type of language so they will not be provoked into inappropriate language or behavior.

Dr. George J. Thompson, president and founder of the Verbal Judo Institute, who is internationally known for his Tactical Communication training programs, developed this training. Gary T. Klugiewicz, director of the PoliceOne Training Network, who brings his realistic simulation training expertise to the program, assists him. Together they will provide you with an interactive training program for understanding the nature of verbal abuse, how to desensitize yourself to it, and how to deflect this verbal abuse to enable you to diffuse the verbal situation in order to generate voluntary compliance.
